Previous Zimbabwe cricket chief Brendan Taylor uncovered on Monday in a tweet that he took cocaine and a $15,000 pay off from an Indian financial specialist to fix matches.
“The ICC (International Cricket Council) are taking the choice to force a long term restriction on my worldwide cricketing profession,” tweeted the public incredible, adding he didn’t fix any match.
The 35-year-old batsman said in October 2019 he was welcomed by an Indian money manager to examine “sponsorships and the expected send off of a T20 contest in Zimbabwe and was exhorted that I would be paid $15,000 for the excursion”.
The greeting came when the group had not gotten compensations for a very long time and there were concerns the nation would not have the option to keep playing universally.
He said he was “somewhat vigilant” yet embraced the excursion no different either way.
During drinks on the final evening, he was offered cocaine which the financial specialist and his partners were taking and said he “stupidly took the lure”.
“The next morning, similar men went into my lodging and showed me a video taken of me the prior night doing cocaine and let me know that in the event that I didn’t recognize fix at global counterparts for them, the video would be delivered to the general population,” he said.
He said he was “cornered” and gave a $15,000 store to fix matches. He took the money with the goal that he could fly out.
