South Korean President Moon Jae -in will not visit Tokyo for the upcoming Olympics, his office said on Monday. The president is abandoning plans for his first summit with Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga. This came up after the senior diplomat at the Japanese embassy in Seoul described efforts to improve relations between the countries as “masturbating”.
Later, press secretary Park Soohyun said ‘President Moon would not visit Japan’. At a briefing where the two countries tried to address disputes over history.
