Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of ,, announced Thursday that the Facebook company will change its name to Meta to reflect its growing focus on the Metaverse. “From now on, we’ll be the Metaverse first, not Facebook first,” Zuckerberg said at the company’s annual Connect conference Thursday.
“Our brand is so closely linked to a product that it cannot possibly represent everything we do today, let alone the future.” Although its vision extends to virtual spaces where people interact through digital avatars, the company said it will not change its corporate structure. It is sold under the symbol MVRS.
