Jaishankar, who is now on a three-day visit to Saudi Arabia. Through the “Vande Bharat Mission,” the rescue operation brought back almost 70 million Indians. On Saturday, he spoke to the Indian diaspora in Riyadh, the nation’s capital.

He also appreciated the Indian community’s role in strengthening the ties between the two nations by leaving an impact on Saudi Arabia about the perception of India.

“Under the Vande Bharat Mission, we brought back 70 million people from all over the world. That has never been done; it was the largest evacuation carried out during the Covid-19 epidemic. India as it is seen by the world today “During their conversation, Jaishankar stated.

At a Riyadh diaspora gathering, Jaishankar praises India’s evacuation effort during Covid.

In 2020, the government had made it easier for Indian people who had become stranded due to the epidemic in various regions of the world to return home as part of the Vande Bharat Mission.

Jaishankar emphasised the burgeoning ties with the Arab country by recalling Saudi Arabia’s assistance in combating the COVID-19 outbreak through oxygen supply. The minister also discussed India’s initiatives to create vaccines and immunise citizens nationwide.

“I go travels and observe that individuals from a number of countries have not had vaccinations because they lacked them. Despite having everything, some nations still do not require vaccinations, the minister said, adding that India was able to reduce this gap through persistent work.

The EAM recognised the commitment of the Indian community to deepening connections between the two countries by altering Saudi Arabia’s perspective of India via their friendships and contributions.

“In Saudi Arabia, there are 2.5 million Indians residing. EAM assured the Indians that the government would continue to assist them, saying, “Of course, you will have your concerns, your interests, and your problems. It’s very useful for me to know that, to understand that, so that when I engage with the authorities, with my counterpart, or with the officialdom, I also have your interest at heart.
